Jaykstah Needs Food, Badly: Gauntletâ„¢ Slayer Edition Review

Gauntlet: Slayer Edition is the fully updated, final version of the Gauntlet game that was released in 2014. Slayer Edition is the 2.0 update, which revamped gameplay, combat, and progression, and introduced itself to the console ecosystem. Arrowhead’s contract with Warner Bros. had expired, and so they are no longer developing the game further, but it still has a lot to offer for new and experienced players alike. Here’s my review of a 3-year-old arcade dungeon crawler in 2017.

20XX Review | Mega Man Gone Roguelike

20XX is a new roguelike platformer that was released on August 16, 2017. It features tight platforming gameplay along with progressively more challenging combat and boss battles. Since it is a roguelike, permadeath and progress loss may turn some players off, though it does offer other mechanics that allow long-term progression despite resetting after a failed run. So far I have put ~10 hours into the game and have enjoyed a lot of what it has to offer and will be giving my thoughts about whether or not this title is worth the $14.99 price tag (spoiler alert: it is).
